Midfielder Set To Be The Star Man As The Hammers Welcome Bournemouth To The London Stadium

|

This afternoon, the Hammers faithful will be hoping that their side can register their first win of the new Premier League season.

Last weekend, West Ham were played off the park by Liverpool, a defeat that initially saw the support lash out after having their early season enthusiasm dampened. But, opinions mellowed after a couple of hours after the realisation set in that the Hammers had been beaten by a side that can, possibly, lay claim to being one of the best in Europe.

Today, Bournemouth are the opposition and our hopes of getting a much-needed victory are high. However, we shouldn’t write Bournemouth off, they are more than capable of pulling off a shock.

Ahead of the game, and as reported by the BBC, Manuel Pellegrini has given an insight into how he envisages and wants the side to play, remarking,

“We are trying to change our mentality. Last season we tried to play on the counter-attack and this year we want to have more minutes in the other team’s half with the ball.

“Every week is important when you bring so many players in and make so many changes. You work on your team and every week it can be better.

“The West Ham fans always support us. Sometimes they have more patience than other times, but all fans demand good results.”

They do, the Premier League can be an unforgiving arena where failure just isn’t tolerated.

But, with the kick-off getting closer, what have we uncovered when it comes to the Hammers possible starting eleven?

Well, Pellegrini will definitely be without the long-term injured trio of Andy Carroll, Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini.

But, today could see two more of our summer signings, Lucas Perez and Carlos Sanchez, make their debuts.

The starting eleven will certainly be a debatable subject and when it is known we’ll announce it on this site.

As for the opposition, Bournemouth, they’ll be without the services of somebody who has West Ham connections, Junior Stanislas, sadly Junior is sidelined through injury.

When it comes to a possible result, we are, of course, tipping the Hammers to win and we have a suspicion that Jack Wilshere, who had a quiet game at Anfield, could be the man who swings it in our favour producing a sparkling performance against the team who he was on-loan with last season.
