Climbing out of the abyss that was the Championship is a feat to be admired.

We`re back in the Premier League, our rightful home, but we shouldn`t kid ourselves by resting on our laurels and then finding ourselves involved in a relegation fight, again.

Big Sam has already signalled his intentions by releasing six players as he attempts to overhaul the squad and there`s no doubt that there will be several new faces at Upton Park this summer.

To stay in the Premier League, it is essential that we have somebody who can score goals, we need a fifteen goal a season man and at the moment the pressure to do that will fall fairly and squarely on the shoulders of Ricardo Vaz Te and Carlton Cole.

Whether they`re up to the task remains to be seen but an ex-Hammer, Tony Cotte, has thrown his tuppence worth into the hat by suggesting that West Ham could do worse than take on board Michael Owen who is available on a free transfer.

In principle it seems a good idea but in practise I`d be fearful of taking on board a player that has a very poor record when it comes to injuries compared to appearances, how about you?
