Any ambition, as we`ve previously reported, West Ham United have of bringing the Swansea City defender, Alfie Mawson, to the club, look doomed.

It seems that Swansea City have every intention of hanging on to their 23-year-old centre-back.

According to the news source, The Daily Star, in their determination to hang on to the player and possibly stave off the threat of losing their Premier League status, the new Swansea City manager, Carlos Carvalhal, has insisted that for a club to prise the player away from the Liberty Stadium would take a colossal bid.

The magnitude of which would be in the region of £50 million for the services of the 23-year-old defender.

Personally, I can`t see any club being prepared to pay anything close to that amount, can you?
