West Ham endured a difficult start to the season but a recent upturn in form has seen the Hammers reap the rewards from their summer spending.
Manuel Pellegrini splashed over £100m on new additions prior to his first season at the club and has seen instant results, with the likes of Lukasz Fabianski, Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena quickly establishing at the club.
The former but in a valiant defensive performance in the weekend’s victory at Craven Cottage, where goals from Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio saw the Hammers extend their recent winning streak to four games in a row.
Fans flocked to Twitter to heap praise on their squad and Balbuena was singled out for individual plaudits, with some praising Pellegrini for his work in the market after electing to sign the Colombian defender over Alfie Mawson, who joined Fulham from Swansea City.
