Mass Axing of Senior Backroom West Ham Staff

|

The decision not to award David Moyes a new contract, but opt to employ Manuel Pellegrini, has seen numerous changes take place behind the scenes at West Ham United.

As expected, Moyes backroom staff followed him out of the club, but we can also reveal that further changes are also in the pipeline.

According to the respected news source, the Telegraph, the Hammers have announced the departure of four others who work behind the scenes, the quartet being:

• Chris Woods (Goalkeeping coach)
• Gary Lewin (Head of medical services)
• Ian Beasley (Club doctor)
• Nick Davies (head of fitness)

All four have, apparently, left the club with immediate effect with the Hammers issuing a statement that reads:

“Following the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini as manager, a restructuring of the coaching and backroom staff is currently underway, with several new appointments set to be confirmed in due course.”

Now we accept that the arrival of a new manager can bring in several changes but some of those released with immediate effect hold very prominent positions behind-the-scenes, begging us to ask the question, just what is going on?

How about some answers West Ham!
