West Ham play Manchester City for the second time in the week having played Eriksson’s side in the FA Cup during the week.

The Hammers will be looking to beat the Citizens for the first time this season, having already lost two and drawn one out of three matches so far this term.

Matthew Upson ahead of the rematch:

‘We feel that we were a little bit unlucky to come off and be knocked out of the cup. I felt we created enough to get something out of it.

‘I am gutted. I love the FA Cup but we can take some positives from our performance.

‘To pass the ball and create the opportunities that we did is a very positive thing. I think it gives us a big opportunity on Sunday to come back and beat them.’

Manchester City Team News:

Nery Castillo will miss the match with a fractured shoulder bone. Michael Johnson and Emile Mpenza are both also missing.

Man City: Hart, Onuoha, Corluka, Dunne, Richards, Ball, Garrido, Ireland, Hamann, Fernandes, Petrov, Elano, Bianchi, Vassell, Samaras, Isaksson, Jihai, Etuhu.

Player to watch: Martin Petrov

Was candidate for Man of the Match in both the FA Cup matches between the two sides recently, and is very dangerous going forward.

Hammers Team News:

Julien Faubert is coming closer to a start though may have to settle for a place on the bench as the Frenchman battles for full fitness.

Hayden Mullins and Carlton Cole are likely to come in and replace Lee Bowyer and Louis Boa Morte, the latter two playing and disappointing against City on Wednesday.

Danny Gabbidon is available again but is unlikely to displace either Anton Ferdinand or Matthew Upson.

West Ham: Green, Wright, Neill, Spector, Ferdinand, Upson, Collins, Gabbidon, McCartney, Bowyer, Faubert, Noble, Mullins, Etherington, Boa Morte, Reid, Ashton, Cole.

Player to watch: Dean Ashton

The former Norwich man is certainly improving after considerable time out and had a hatful of chances against City during the week’s FA Cup replay match.

Ref Watch:

Phil Dowd (Staffordshire)

Match Prediction:

City to edge it out again, it’s impossible to win up there. 2-1.
