West Ham United confirmed the news that Nathan Trott will be joining AFC Wimbledon on loan this season and a number of fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the deal.
The 20-year-old will head to the League One outfit on a season-long loan deal where he will hope to continue his development and get the regular minutes this stage of his career requires.
The England U20 international is very highly rated at the London Stadium by those at the club and has only recently signed a new long-term contract to further highlight that point.
Trott is one of our most exciting academy prospects to break through the ranks in recent years, and we expect him to have a big future between the sticks for us when the time comes.
Therefore, a temporary move would be in his best interests at this stage of his career, as he would be able to get a taste of competitive football and it should only help to develop his game further as – in an ideal world – he would play a large number of matches.
And, it would seem the West Ham fans are all in favour of the loan spell the other side of London.
Whilst you would expect there to be a number of supporters wishing him all the best regarding his time with the Dons, many of them felt it is ‘exactly what he needs’ whilst another said it was a ‘great move’.
