West Ham secured back-to-back victories for the first time this season after beating Cardiff City 3-1 on Tuesday evening, following on from their 3-0 triumph over Newcastle United at the weekend.
The Hammers had struggled to find consistency through the opening few months of the Premier League season, although they were not aided by a very tough schedule of fixtures, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side have raised the confidence ahead of the busy festive season.
A brace from Lucas Perez against the Welsh side in midweek was followed by an effort from Michail Antonio, who opened his account for the season after previously failing to score in his 12 league appearances this term.
A favourite of Slaven Bilic during his time at the club, Antonio was a star during the 2016-17 campaign but injury problems and a decline in form has seen his importance to West Ham decrease – although some believe the goal against Cardiff could be the start of his resurgence.
We have gathered some of the reactions to his latest performance below.
