West Ham’s difficult run to the season continued at the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, a match which was overshadowed by the shocking post-match scenes at the King Power Stadium.
Sunday’s Premier League fixtures went ahead with a dark cloud hovering over the games as supporters awaited further news from Leicester and Hammers supporters on social media were left furious with one incident in the London derby between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
The score finished level at 2-2 after the fightback from the hosts, who fell behind after Arsenal’s quickfire double at the start of the second half, after Wilfried Zaha won his side a penalty.
Zaha’s dramatic tumble was heavily scrutinised on social media and Hammers fans were quick to compare the incident to Manuel Lanzini’s dive against Stoke last season, which earned the playmaker a two-match ban.
Supporters are now eagerly waiting to see if Zaha will earn the same punishment as they feel the two incidents were identical, although many were not confident the FA will take action.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Wait hold on, didn’t Lanzini do exactly the same as this last season at Stoke and got a two game ban for it ? Surely the same applies here ? Consistency is needed…. https://t.co/TbFyQIMtRu

What a laughing stock Zaha is , Guy had his chance at Utd and blew it then chose not to play for England because he would need to put effort in and couldn’t be asked , he’s always falling over before he even gets the ball what a joke

Won’t get a ban, he doesn’t play for us

Sorry but if he doesn’t get banned for that then the FA are a disgrace. Literally identical to the Lanzini one last season. https://t.co/qF47m7IRZn

Of course he won’t get a ban! Woy is friends with the FA as is Levy, so no chance of them even thinking about reviewing this!

Wow that is incredible. He’s got previous for this too.

He’s a great player but no confidence in his ability which is why he’s a serial cheat… premier league need to do what’s right and ban him but scared to

That’s even worse than Lanzini, much worse. A ban is coming, no doubt about it.
