When Manuel Lanzini picked up a knee injury whilst on international duty, our hearts sunk when the severity of that injury was revealed.
Thankfully, the Argentine, who missed the World Cup, is back on the road to recovery and has returned to the Hammers training ground to complete his rehabilitation.
So good to have Manu back at the training ground with a smile on his face! Here is his first interview since returning to the club after undergoing knee surgery… pic.twitter.com/Oh1D9b1AcX

Now, whether Lanzini, if fit, could have helped the side avoid the awful start they’re currently enduring is up for debate.
But, suffice to say, I doubt whether we’d have fared any worse, if that were remotely possible.
Following the club posting the latest update on social media, the Hammers support were quick champion the Argentine:
#GetWellSoon @manulanzini already showing more passion in one interview than our starting 11 has this season so far #COYI ⚒

Need you back Manu, we’re a bloody shambles.

We miss you @manulanzini ????

We certainly do, the side has looked bereft of inspiration at times this season and Lanzini’s presence, once fit, could help our season turn around.
However, one pessimist had to have the last laugh when he posted:
Im going to miss his face when we go down and he gets sold next summer

Now, surely things won’t get that bad, will they?
