The club have promised for so long that the area around the pitch would be claret in keeping with our colours, but the carpet we are expecting is still a while off yet, according to ExWHUemployee.
It was back in 2017 that Slaven Bilic was claiming it could cost £200,000 to paint the area, but in doing so it could help the players reach a higher level as they would be able to distinguish between the playing surface and the surrounding area.
In the end, the club opted to go down the carpet route, and it was expected to finally be installed in time for our clash with Everton at the end of March, but Ex now expects us to miss that date.
The reasoning? It hasn’t turned up yet.
Now, the hope is that it will arrive in time so that it can be installed for our next home game – against Leicester on April 20 – as between the Foxes visit and the Toffees, we have a few away games so the stadium will be free from interruptions.
When Ex shared his news on Twitter, here’s how a lot of you replied…
Have we got the money for a full carpet or could we end up doing a loan deal for a couple of Moroccan rugs and pay as you lay bath mats?
