A romantic return to where it all started for the former West Ham United youngster, Glen Johnson, has been muted recently.

At 32-years-of-age Glen has had a pretty decent career playing with Chelsea, when he left West Ham, then having a spell at Liverpool before heading to Stoke City.

During his time at Stoke, Johnson earned a recall to the England squad but, unfortunately, had to pull out with an injury.

But, any dream of a return to the East End appears to be fading, with the Daily Telegraph proclaiming that Johnson is set to sign a new deal at the Potteries club.

A return to West Ham United would, in my opinion, have provided the Hammers defence with some much-needed experience and ability, however, what`s not meant to be isn`t meant to be.
