Earlier this month we reported on how Teddy Sheringham had been approached to become West Ham United`s striking coach.

We also commented on how the former Spurs, Manchester United and West Ham player was mulling over a decision.

Well it transpires that the striker, who during his spell at West Ham United scored 30 has decided to take up the offer and that his primary task will be to try and increase our meager goal tally of 40 from 38 Premier League games last season.

Talking about accepting the new role, a role that is designed to achieve one of the directives set by the board for Sam Allardyce, Sheringham had this to say,

“I`m buzzing. I`ve had offers to get back into football but this one seemed right.”

Here`s hoping that Teddy proves to be a success in this new role he`s accepted.
