A lot of West Ham United fans are angry at the abuse Declan Rice has received after he moved onto six caps for England.
Many fans of other clubs from around the country thought that Rice was average on Sunday and were confused why we were raving about him.
The main culprits were Newcastle United fans who appear bitter that it is Rice and not Sean Longstaff, who is in the England midfield, but the 20-year-old West Ham man has made 73 Premier League appearances and is clearly rated highly by Gareth Southgate.
Longstaff, on the other hand, has only made 17 Premier League appearances, and he has not hit the heights of last season this – so on that evidence, it is correct that Rice should be in the England team over Sean Longstaff.
Does Rice deserve to be in the England team?
Yes
No
I thought Rice was average against Kosovo, but for him to receive abuse for an OK display is wrong and is the sign that many other fans are just bitter.
Certainly, these West Ham fans think that the abuse for Rice was uncalled for – especially from Newcastle fans.
See the best of the reaction below.
No surprise that another England game has passed, and Declan Rice is getting abuse for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Funny how the hate always seems to be from those bitter Geordies too…

Strange bunch of fans. Strange club. Still smaller than a league 1 Sunderland, probably why they keep on griping about Declan Rice.

Because apparently the Longstaff brothers are the best thing to come out of Newcastle since Ant and Dec released “let’s get ready to rumble”
