We had hoped that West Ham United would have wrapped up the deal that would see William Carvalho join the club by now.

It was obvious by our performance last weekend, against Manchester United, that reinforcements are needed, otherwise it could be a long, long season.

However, it seems that bringing the 25-year-old Portuguese international to the club, isn`t all plain sailing.

Reports emerging in the media and as covered by the red-top publication the Telegraph, suggest that the deal is in danger of collapsing unless the two clubs involved, West Ham United and Sporting Lisbon, can agree a price.

Currently, according to our referenced source, the two clubs are £5.5 million apart when it comes to the valuation of a player who could do wonders for our side.

Will some further mediation solve the problem?

Here at Vital West Ham we sincerely hope so!
