West Ham’s difficult start to the season continued on Wednesday evening as the Hammers were knocked out of the EFL Cup by London rivals Tottenham.
It was a fairly easy game for Mauricio Pochettino’s side at the London Stadium as they strolled to a 3-1 victory courtesy of a brace from Heung-Min Son and Fernando Llorente’s second-half effort, which meant Lucas Perez’ goal was merely a consolation.
The defeat extends West Ham’s winless run in all competitions to four matches and fans were unsurprisingly vocal with their thoughts on social media, with many picking out Javier Hernandez for individual criticism.
Signed by Slaven Bilic last summer, the experienced Mexico international has failed to rekindle the form he previously showed in the Premier League with Manchester United and it seems many supporters have now had enough.
We have gathered some of the best comments on Hernandez’s latest display below.
Hernandez: £140k p/w
Antonio: £70k p/w
Ogbonna: £70k p/w3 of the worst players at our club
Yet of one of our best and most consistent players is still stuck on £3k p/w

You know it’s Halloween when you see an attack of Antonio, Hernandez and Anderson

Hernandez is only any use when a team is chasing a game & piling men and balls into the box AKA super sub. Beyond that he doesn’t fit into any systems used nowadays. He’s been poor for us and I don’t understand why so many fans have made excuses for him in the last year

Ogbonna, Masuaka, Hernandez can’t be anywhere near the first team again.
