West Ham has rightfully been known as the Academy of Football over the years, and that moniker has certainly been adopted by Mauricio Pellegrini so far. The manager has been eager to make use of the talented crop of young players at the club throughout the season so far, and long may it continue.

Seeing young players in the team is exactly what the London Stadium faithful will want to see, and West Ham have recently paid tribute to two youngsters that we’re hoping will continue to become crucial players this season.

Both Issa Diop and Declan Rice have featured regularly this term, and the young Irons appear to be building quite the relationship off the field too, owing to an image recently shared by the club on Instagram.

Though Diop wasn’t developed in London, the defender, at just 21-years-old, is being moulded by the very institution that has developed some of the greatest ever defenders. He’s shown moments of class, and there have been some clear signs that he is improving every single week.

For Declan Rice, meanwhile, it’s been all about West Ham since he joined the club back in 2014. He’s been developing rapidly in recent years, and he certainly deserves the minutes that he’s been getting as of late. We’re hoping that he’ll remain a Hammer for many years to come.

We’re hoping to see a ton more of the duo playing together this season, because they’re good enough to play at the highest level.
