West Ham are in need of inspiration after the international break as they look to improve upon what has been an extremely slow start to the season.
Six defeats from the opening 12 Premier League matches have left the Hammers languishing at the wrong end of the league standings, with Manuel Pellegrini struggling to get his new-look side established.
The Hammers splashed over £100m on additions during the summer and question marks hover above the head of a number of those additions, with Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez both suffering early injuries, while Lucas Perez has struggled for opportunities.
Perez had a run out during West Ham’s friendly against Brentford during the international break, where goals from Robert Snodgrass and Javier Hernandez handed the Hammers a 2-1 win but failed to provide a spark.
The Spaniard was guilty of missing a glorious opportunity, striking the frame of the goal, and some West Ham fans on social media reacted with bemusement. We have gathered some of their responses below.

Perezs body language when he hit the crossbar is very disappointing…..— Dominic Vella (@DominicVella) November 15, 2018

It was easier for Perez to score than miss and he still missed it!
