‘The West Ham Way’ is a style of football that has not been seen for some time in east London, and the club reminding fans about it hasn’t made things better.

The Hammers’ official Twitter account posted a video of Manuel Lanzini’s goal against Crystal Palace in the 2016/17 season that saw the east London side lift out of the relegation zone, with the Argeninte playmaker’s sole strike of the game a fantastic team move that saw the majority of outfield players get a touch on the ball.
With this style of champagne football being absent from the London Stadium for some time, some fans on social media began to reminisce about the good times at West Ham when the Irons used to play beautifully seemingly every week.
Here’s how some West Ham fans reacted to the goal on Twitter…
Hope this is the new way. For a long time it has been turtle-up defense followed by long-ball offense.

So West Ham scored THIS goal and you’re telling me Pep isn’t having an effect on English football?

Some supporters, though, had a different idea of what ‘The West Ham Way’ should be…
The West Ham way is being 1 up against palace and losing 2-1

West Ham are beginning to return back to ‘The West Ham Way’ this season, with performances against Norwich City and Manchester United being highly praised by home supporters as the Hammers sit just a few points off the European spots in the Premier League table.
