Holding Midfielder On The Hammers Wish-List

|

With Declan Rice having still not agreed to a new deal with West Ham United Football Club, there is speculation doing the rounds that suggest the club could be looking to bring a replacement.

The speculation, as reported by the news source, the Daily Mail, infers that the Hammers are keeping tabs on the Red Bull Leipzig midfielder, Diego Demme.

Demme is a German international who has come to the fore as Leipzig have established themselves as a leading side in the Bundesliga, playing the holding role in front of the back four.

Valued at £15 million, the 26-year-old is seen as someone who could step into the void if the deal to keep Rice at the club fails or also as someone who would give Manuel Pellegrini better options for that role.

Hopefully, it’ll be the latter as it really would be criminal to lose somebody as good as Rice.

But, we can but wait and see.
