‘Here lies the problem’ – These West Ham fans are not happy with player comments

|

Our main issue with West Ham’s form this season has been the inconsistency that has been on display. On any given day, we can look like one of England’s best teams, but this is often followed by weeks of poor form and losses. It just makes you wonder why that’s the case.

Is it simply down to a lack of form? A lack of consistency? Maybe it’s a lack of motivation? In reality, it’s probably a mix of all three, but the latter is an interesting theory given a recent comment from Robert Snodgrass.

Ahead of our game with Spurs this weekend, he’s been discussing motivation, and he’s noted how it’s easy to be motivated for a game against the Lilywhites.

He said: “It’s Spurs and if you’re not motivated for that, there’s no point in turning up”.

This hasn’t had the desired impact with supporters, it seems, given that plenty of West Ham fans have responded to the comments with disgust. They’ve made a very good point, noting that the club shouldn’t need motivation for any game – their focus shouldn’t simply be reserved for games against big teams or London rivals.

It’s a good point, and perhaps it helps to explain why we’ve struggled against lesser opposition. See what fans have said below:
