After getting a much-need victory against Swansea City last weekend, thereby ending a run of five consecutive defeats and seven games without a win, the Hammers travel to take on Sunderland this Saturday.

This morning Slaven Bilic held his pre-match press conference, ahead of the trip to the North-East.

One topic Bilic discussed was that of ensuring the Hammers finally ending any threat of being relegated whilst also coping with a Sunderland side who are desperate to beat the drop, despite looking odds-on to go down.

This is what Slaven had to say,

‘Sunderland is in a situation that they are desperate for a win. It’s also a big game for us to get closer to securing our status.

‘We know it’s going to be extremely hard, but it’s a good opportunity for us to get some points and get closer to safety.

‘Nobody expected Sunderland to be safe just because they appointed a big name like David Moyes. They had big names before.

‘Sadly, for them, it’s become a common situation and it looks really bad, but the majority of their players have been there before.’

It should be a competitive game, but I`ve a feeling West Ham will edge this one, how about you?
