Eleven years ago today, a certain Scott Parker made his debut for West Ham United Football Club.
Scott, a midfielder, played for West Ham United from 2011 until 2013, before leaving to join Tottenham Hotspur.
Parker was the kind of player who gave his all, fiercely combative and committed to the club, Scott certainly endeared himself to the Hammers support.
But, did moving from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur sully his reputation amongst the support after all our rivalry with that lot from North London / Wembley / Milton Keynes is well known?
Delving into the world of social media it appears the support is split.
Some comments, shown below, suggest that his performances for the Hammers have guaranteed him being labelled a Hammers legend:
Probably get lit of stick calling him all sorts for joining the spuds, but without him we would of got relegated before that, always gave his all, great player for us

Banging player. Anyone who calls him out joining Spurs is a prize helmet. We got relegated…..He was too good and too old in his career to play in the Championship.

I don't care what people say, even though he joined the enemy, still a legend and 3 times hammer of the year in my eyes!

One of my favourite West Ham players, was unreal for those few seasons, like you said we could definitely do with him now.

However, that rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur runs deep and some of the Hammers support just can’t forgive him, as the following comments show:
But he legged it to Spurs immediately after we were relegated almost, to further his England career. Lost respect for him after that

Why glorify someone who went to join 2 other london clubs as if he is a legend lmao

Personally, I have nothing but admiration for Scott for the manner in which he conducted himself in a Hammers shirt.
Parker is also amongst an elite group who have played for FIVE London clubs;
• Charlton Athletic
• Chelsea
• West Ham United
• Tottenham Hotspur
and
• Fulham
Scott is currently on the coaching staff at Craven Cottage and if he can turn his hand to coaching as well as he did to playing, he’ll make a pretty decent coach.
But, what are your views on Scott Parker?
