The Hammers head off to Goodison Park this weekend, to take on Everton.
The opening four games have produced four defeats, not the kind of start our new boss, Manuel Pellegrini, would have expected to oversee.
However, despite the pressure increasing to get those first points on the board and alleviate the situation, the Chilean remains confident he can turn things around, remarking at his pre-match press conference:
“I don’t think if you lose four games that you should have no confidence.
“I trust what I do now more than ever. It’s not the first time in my career that I’ve had bad results and we’re absolutely confident we can turn things around.
“I’m not worried about statistics. I am worried about finding a team to play well and win the game.”
But, how have Pellegrini’s remarks been interpreted on social media?
Well, it seems, despite the poor start, some are very optimistic for the future:
I’m confident we can turn it around just need the players to show us that they are confident in there ability time to stand up and be counted bring the 3 points home no excuses COYI ‘X’

It’s good to see that not everybody is hitting the panic button.
But, you get the feeling that a defeat tomorrow, followed by another at home to Chelsea next weekend, could see the mood change.
Some, as the comment below suggests:

Are already looking at alternatives, such is the way fortunes ebb and flow in the modern game.
