Hammers need to stress player’s future lies at club as opposing boss eye transfer

|

Quoted by Claret and Hugh, Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has said that he would like to keep Marcus Brown past this season.

He’s a talented boy is Brown and he’s had a fantastic season for the U’s with him offering genuine attacking threat despite their League One struggles.

Robinson is clearly a fan too:

“I’d like to take him on a permanent, that would be the ideal. I’m sure his agent would disagree that we could afford him, but we believe we can.”

We’ve got a decision to make in the summer and, to be honest, I would like to think that we are going to reject any advances for him – at least on a permanent basis.

He looks a real threat and is going to get better – why not keep him on the books and get him out on loan higher up if he’s not going to play for us next season?

That’s what I’d like to happen, and after this transfer warning from Robinson, the Hammers need to ensure they stress that they see his future still with us in the long-term.
