In one of those pieces of transfer tittle-tattle listed in the transfer gossip columns, there is one relating to West Ham United that you could maybe miss if your weren`t very observant.

Spread across just five lines, or should that be half a column inch, is the inference that Sam Allardyce and the boys are taking a close look at bringing a defender to the club.

The defender in question is on the books of the Spanish club Malaga and he goes by the name of Vitorino Antunes.

Antunes is 27 years of age and Portuguese by birth. It`s reported that Malaga are in no rush to sell the player and may well be willing to accept a loan deal with West Ham having the option to buy at a later date.

We`ll, as is always the case keep an eye on things to see if anything concrete materializes.
