Two games to go and the 2016 / 2017 Premier League season will come to an end.

However, the sands of time stand still for no one and already we`d suggest plans are afoot to improve the West Ham United squad for next season.

Here at Vital West Ham United we expect speculation to appear on a regular basis as the Hammers are linked with players the media might be heading our way.

This morning the good folk of the tabloid publication, the Mirror, are suggesting that the Hammers are interested in acquiring the silky skills of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson, 27-years-of-age, is currently on the books of Swansea City, a club who have yet to confirm their status as a Premier League club for next season.

According to our source, the midfield playmaker is rated in the £25 million bracket. Although under contract under 2020, the suspicion is that if relegation befalls the Welsh club then they may be forced into a sale.

If that is the case then West ham will have to compete with reported interest from Everton as well as any other clubs who declare an interest.

But, my view is that the capture of Sigurdsson would be a good move by the Hammers, let`s hope it happens!
