Hammers First Summer Signing Will Be a Defender

|

After agreeing to become the manager of West Ham United, Manuel Pellegrini knew that the club needed to make several signings.

The Hammers dalliance with relegation last season proved to be the perfect wake-up call, with the realisation forthcoming that the squad just wasn’t strong enough.

Today, it is being reported that Pellegrini could be about to make his first signing of the summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Hammers are set to make a swoop for the Fulham full-back Ryan Fredericks.

Fredericks, just 25-years-of-age, is, according to our source, set to put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with the Hammers.

The player is a more than capable defender who is able to get forward down the right flank and provide some attacking thrust.

Fulham’s loss, in our opinion, could very well be West Ham United’s gain.

Here at Vital West Ham we await official confirmation of the signing.
