The times really are a changing!
If you’d have told me, back in May, that my beloved Hammers would be seriously considering spending almost £50 million on one player, thereby smashing their club record transfer fee, I’d have given you a right funny look.
But that scenario is now one that appears to be set to happen.
The summer-long chase to bring the Brazilian midfielder, Felipe Anderson, to the club is set, so it seems, to end in success.
According to the popular tabloid publication, the Sun, the player, currently on the books of the Serie A side Lazio, has flown to London with a view to discussing terms, undertaking a medical and, hopefully, putting pen-to-paper on a contract with West Ham United Football Club.
The summer transfer window is fast developing into the most memorable in our history, long may it continue, although pre-empting the starting eleven for the first game of the season is getting more difficult by the day.
£50 million on one player would you Adam and Eve it!
