Hammers Defender Wanted By Ambitious Championship Club

|

Sat here in the editorial chair, I’m a little bewildered as to what has gone on this summer.

Although David Sullivan promised us a summer transfer window the likes of which we’ve never seen, we never believed it’d be as exciting and rewarding as it has been.

But, we’re realistic enough to know that with the transfer window having been so prolific there could be, before the summer transfer window closes, a few players leaving the club as those in charge of such affairs look to stay within the confines of the Financial Fair Play Regulations.

Who goes and who stays is the subject of much debate at the moment, there could be a few surprises is all we’re saying.

But, this afternoon, speculation has appeared linking one of our defenders with a move away from the London Stadium.

According to the respected news source, Sky Sports, Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in Sam Byram.

Byram, joined the Hammers from Leeds, for an undisclosed fee back in January 2016, but has failed to hold down a regular place in the starting eleven and not quite ever fulfilling the promise that saw the Hammers make a move for him.

That fact alone probably makes Byram an ideal candidate to be moved on this transfer window although whether it’ll be a loan deal or a permanent one remains to be seen.

Here at Vital West Ham, we’ll endeavour to keep an eye out on the events leading up to the summer transfer window closure and report back as deemed necessary.
