Hammers Attempts To Sign Brazilian Midfielder Look Set To Fail

|

Reports filtering through suggest that West Ham United may be thwarted in their attempts to bring Felipe Anderson to the club.

With Manuel Pellegrini keen to add some quality to the squad, the 25-year-old Brazilian, currently on the books of the Serie A side, Lazio, had appeared to be a viable target.

But things, according to the news source Express, are not going to plan.

It seems that the Hammers off of £33 million has been flatly rejected by the Italian club.

Devoid of Champions League football, next season, Lazio are keen to extract as much cash for the player as they can, to make up for the loss of a valuable revenue stream.

To that effect, Lazio are asking for a cool £43 million for a player who is also coveted by our fellow Premier League sides Southampton and Leicester.

Our view is, although West Ham United have aspirations of gate-crashing the so-called big six, at that price Andersen will not be making the move to the London Stadium.

Although a talented individual, I can’t see our board splashing that kind of cash on one player, can you?
