Another of the Hammers regular starting eleven has gone under the surgeons` knife.

Following hard-on-the-heels of Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate, it has been announced that Winston Reid has been operated on.

Reid will miss the final game of West Ham`s 2016 / 2017 season after having had knee surgery.

Talking about succumbing to the injury, Reid has remarked to the media,

“I`m done for the season as I`ve had an operation. I`ve struggled with it for the last six weeks and it hasn`t got any better, so it`s just been about managing the load, really.’

The operation means that Reid will not be available for selection, by New Zealand, for the forthcoming Confederations Cup in Russia.

However, it is expected that the reliable centre-back will be back for pre-season ahead of the 2017 / 2018 season.

Here at Vital West Ham we wish Winston a speedy recovery.
