‘Good buy’, ‘Will be a laugh’ – Many West Ham fans react to Husillos’ reported £52m transfer plans

There have been a lot of claims that our summer transfer budget before sales will only be between £25m and £35million. However, Irons supporters on Twitter have been reacting to one notion that Mario Husillos has identified two potential signings that would cost at least £52million combined.

The pair are Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic and Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez, who both could be on the move this summer to sure up our refreshed attack, that could be without Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.

Fulham, though, are understood to be after at least £30m for their Serbian centre-forward, as they know they stand little chance of retaining the 11-Premier League goal hitman following their relegation.

Gomez, meanwhile, could set us back £22million if Celta are relegated to the Segunda Division this season – the Balaidos natives’ fight looks set to go down to the wire, with five clubs scrapping to stay in La Liga.

Beyond Mitrovic and Gomez, our transfer guru has also set out plans to sign a box-to-box midfielder, a full-back, and a back-up goalkeeper.

A new goalkeeper will be needed in the next transfer window, as Adrian is set to leave once his contract expires in the summer. The club also do not feel academy star Nathan Trott is ready for a first-team role.

As for the box-to-box midfielder, one option could be Franck Kessie, with AC Milan’s Ivorian star previously linked with a move to the London Stadium.
