There has been a complete change in fortune for Kevin Nolan.

Six goals in his last seven Premier League starts have ensured that Nolan is, once again, a vita cog in the Hammers machine.

The days whereby his future at Upton Park looked bleak following those two red cards in quick succession seem a long time ago.

Following the 3-1 win over Southampton, our fourth straight win this month, Sam Allardyce had this to say,

“He has made sure that he has repaid everybody at the club for what has happened. It was the lowest point of his career. He had been sent off twice in a small matter of time.”

“His contribution has been massive, not just for his goals. The pass he made today for our equalizer split a very resilient Southampton defence open.”

“He had a lot of time to reflect what happened to him. For him, it was about rolling his sleeves up and using those weeks to define himself and target showing everyone what he can really do. He`s come back with a massive bang.”

Indeed he has and from things looking bleak not too long ago, things are starting to look a lot rosier in the Hammers garden now.
