Fortune Favours Hammers in Carabao Cup Draw

|

After making heavy weather of beating AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the Carabao Cup, emerging 3-1 victors late on, West Ham United were eagerly awaiting the draw for the third round to see who their opponents would be.

The draw for the third round sees those Premier League teams who are participating in European football, this season, join the draw. There is also no North and South division as per the first two rounds.

The referenced draw took place last night and it appears ‘Lady Luck’ was looking after the Hammers.

Not only were West Ham given a home draw but also a draw against opposition from the lower leagues in the form of Macclesfield Town.

Although we’re always wary of giant-killings in the domestic cup competitions, you have got to feel that the Hammers should make the fourth round and, thereby, move a step closer to an appearance in a Wembley final although we would like to add we are not counting our chickens yet!
