ExWHUEmployee believes one man can help West Ham sign talent who can “nutmeg a mermaid”

|

West Ham United’s status in the Premier League has been retained for another season, but only just.

Their 1-1 draw against Manchester United made it mathematically certain they could not be relegated to the Championship with just one game to spare.

This now frees up time for David Moyes to go ahead and initiate his summer transfer plans, and Brentford winger Said Benrahma has been linked with a move to the London Stadium.

With the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Albian Ajeti and Manuel Lanzini reportedly being sold at the end of the season, the Scot will desperately want to bolster his attacking options in his squad.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, ExWHUEmployee said the following he was asked about Will Salthouse, who is believed to be Benrahma’s agent.

The reason that this causes concern is that he is the same agent that works with Roberto Jimenez, who has spectacularly flopped in East London.

Despite this, Benrahma has had an outstanding season with the Bees this season, helping guide his team to a third-place finish and qualify for the Playoffs.

During the current campaign, the Algerian winger has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 43 appearances, which is an excellent return for a wide player, as per TransferMarkt.

Should West Ham go in for Said Benrahma?

Yes

No

His manager Thomas Frank has been delighted with his performances during the current campaign and has described him as a player that could “nutmeg a mermaid”, cited by The Guardian.

It would be a great signing and an ideal replacement for some of the Hammers’ outgoing stars. However, it begs the question as to how serious the club are in bringing Benrahma in.
