When it was decided, by those who run our club, the services of Slaven Bilic had to be dispensed with, the managerial role was given to David Moyes on the basis the situation would be reviewed at the end of the season.
Moyes primary task was to ensure that the Hammers didn’t lose their Premier League status, something that was achieved with a win at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.
Now, the end of the season is almost upon us and those same people who fired Bilic must decide whether Moyes should now be given the job on a permanent basis.
Ahead of the visit of Everton, for the last game of the season, David Moyes held his obligatory press conference.
When pushed on his future, Moyes had the following to say,
“We’ll have a chat next week and we’ll see.
“It’s been a tough job but a really good job. I’ve really enjoyed it and the players have worked hard when we came in; we had to get them in order a little bit and get them playing a bit better, and I think we’ve done that. It’s a big achievement for us.”

There’s no doubting that Moyes has done the job requested, but has there really been a marked improvement in our performances or have we done just enough to scrape by?
Also, with Moyes being on a short-term contract, could the suggestion be thrown into the ring that the Scot didn’t have as much influence on the January transfer window as he’d have wanted?
Continuing, Moyes, on the back of ensuring the Hammers survival in the top-flight, has called for a strong finish to try and get the Hammers into a top half of the table finish, inferring a win could just see that happen.

It just goes to show how tight it has been, points-wise, in the bottom half of the table, does it not!
