‘Epitome of the modern spoilt youth player’: These West Ham fans want outcast to be sold

|

West Ham have struggled to find form in the Premier League this season, losing seven of their opening 13 matches and securing just three victories.

Manuel Pellegrini splashed over £100m on new additions in the summer but his side is still in need of further rejuvenation, although departures may be required in January in order to raise funds for the Chilean boss.

One player widely expected to leave is Reece Oxford, who has endured a significant fall from grace after first emerging as a promising youngster during Slaven Bilic’s reign in East London – then spending time on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 19-year-old appeared just once in the Premier League last season and has stated he could be forced away from the club in search of further first-team opportunities – and it seems West Ham fans are willing to let him go.

Oxford has regularly been compared to fellow academy graduate Declan Rice and it is clear the fans’ support for Oxford is wavering, with many calling for him to be axed when the window reopens in January.

We have gathered some of their comments below.
