West Ham have struggled for consistency so far this season after suffering six defeats from their opening 12 Premier League matches.

The Hammers splashed over £100m on new recruits during the summer transfer window but are yet to reap the rewards from their efforts, although the likes of Felipe Anderson and Issa Diop have provided positives.

Social media has been awash with controversy this week after reports broke that outgoing Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore will receive a £5m ‘gift’ on his departure, made up of £250k from each of the 20 clubs in the top-flight.

Many, including West Ham fans, have expressed their outrage at this and Hammers fans were left boiling over on Thursday as comments from David Gold supported the departure bonus – as he claimed Scudamore deserved it.

It stands as the latest in a long line of incidents that have left the supporters furious with the club’s hierarchy and many did not waste any time criticising Gold for his comments.

We have gathered some of their reactions below.
