The chase is well and truly on for a new attacker to sign for West Ham and it looks as though we’re looking abroad to try and solve things in this final week of the window.
The rumours are going to circulate, of course, and it seems rather exciting that a report in Spain is suggesting a new forward could arrive as early as today.
Indeed, according to Galiciapress – an outlet close to Celta Vigo – we’re looking at striking a deal for forward Maxi Gomez in the coming hours.
The striker is in his early 20s and has been on fire in scoring nine goals in 18 matches – a goal every other game in La Liga is not to be sniffed at.
And, as well as that, it appears if a deal does go through we’ll be getting a discount.
The report suggests we’re looking at a deal worth around £35 million when his buy-out is £43.5 million.
Still big money, but a discount for a player that looks very impressive.
