The Hammers pre-season training jaunt to France has given the clearest indication yet that two of the squad have no future at Upton Park.

Both Modibo Maiga and Alou Diarra have not been included in the travelling party.

Maiga, who spent time out on loan at Queens Park Rangers last season, has managed a miserly 3 goals in 31 appearances, since joining for £4.7 million from Socheaux, hardly a decent return for a striker.

Diarra, a former French international, has fared even worse. Since joining from Marseille for a fee reported to be £2.5 million, he`s made just 2 starts.

Confirming our suspicions that both are not long for this club of ours, a source has been quoted as having remarked to the media,

“It is quite apparent they are no longer a part of things.”

Exactly!

And will they be missed?

Probably not!
