Marco Arnautiavic has had a great season so far, but it’s fair to say that we’ve perhaps been too reliant on the powerful Austrian. He’s bagged 4 goals so far, and that’s half of our overall tally.
So, there’s no doubting that we could do with a bit more firepower, and so it came as no surprise when we were linked with Olivier Giroud this week. According to the Mirror, West Ham are considering a January move for the French World Cup winner.
Naturally, though it’s a big talking point for the Hammers, it’s also big news for Chelsea. Giroud is out of contract at the end of the season, yet he’s currently Chelsea’s first choice forward, and so if he were to move across London, that would represent a bit of a problem for the Blues.
It’s no surprise, then, that many Chelsea fans online aren’t impressed by the report. Indeed, they want him to stay at the club, and they don’t think a move will come to fruition.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

Selling Olivier Giroud in January would be an awful decision.
Very much doubt it'll happen like.

West Ham are eyeing up an audacious #January swoop for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. – MIRROR
In their dream. They want Chelsea to be left with one striker? Unless Chelsea are planning for a good replacement in January, which I doubt. #CFC

Well if we lose him & don't sign a proven regular goal scoring striker then I'm done!!!!

Despite their hesitancy, if West Ham are keen, Giroud is certainly the sort of player that could make an impact at the London Stadium.
Thoughts?
