West Ham fans have got so much anger built up about their club. Whilst previously the frustrations were being aimed at Manuel Pellegrini for the recent on-field failings, a lot of the blame is now being aimed at the board, although they do still want to see Manuel Pellegrini given the boot.
“I was brought up on character and the West Ham way, and you’ve got to dig in sometimes. We're gutted about the result."

With all of this rage from the supporters, though, the last thing that they wanted to see was the typical tweet that the Irons usually put out after a defeat, where they pick a player to give some ‘we need to put things right’ quotes and post it on social media.
However, like clockwork, the Hammers tweeted exactly this after the Arsenal defeat, and the player they choose was David Martin, the club’s 3rd choice goalkeeper who has made just three appearances, and it sent the already angered fans into a frenzy, slamming their own club for a lack of class in what can be viewed as throwing the goalkeeper under the bus in the way they did.
Will we stay up this season?
Yes
No
You can read the Irons’ thoughts on the Martin post here:
Hands up who had Martin in the ‘Which player will West Ham wheel out to say empty platitudes after an embarrassing performance’ bingo?
— James Gunn (@jamesgunn_) December 10, 2019
Ffs now they’re wheeling Dave out for this.
— Anthony Hufton (@AnthonyHufton) December 10, 2019
How despicable to use David Martin in this way.

This is tragic from the club & embarrassing wheeling out a son of a club legend like this. Show some class for goodness sake. We are currently the worst team in the league. A manager who is lost. Owners who are equally culpable & motivated by money. This is not West Ham anymore.

Brilliant.
I was wondering who’s turn it was to do the traditional post-match defeat post saying ‘we’ll work hard to put things right’.
Wasn’t expecting our 3rd choice keeper, with 3 games under his belt though.— AndyK (@Andyk23Andy) December 10, 2019
David Martin the new local boy in the photograph.
It’ll be Nathan Holand next..— James Reading (@JReadingAloud87) December 10, 2019
The Irons are livid with their club from top to bottom and are desperate to see some wholesale changes.
