Dean Ashton on his form for West Ham and why the Hammers have got to ‘earn the right’ to beat the teams below them.

‘We’ve got a bit of a break before we play Fulham at Craven Cottage as the cup fixtures are played this weekend. It’s our second consecutive game against a team from the bottom four of the table, after drawing 1-1 with Birmingham last weekend. We want to get on a good run now but these are very hard games. We saw Fulham beat Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago, which not many would have predicted. When you are down there you are scrapping for your life and they will be a really hard team to beat. It’s not just a foregone conclusion that you are going to win just because they are lower in the table than you. We have got to earn the right to be where we are and earn the right to take home the three points.’
