Could West Ham Go Down?

A question I suspect many of us have asked ourselves.

Following the 4-1 defeat against Liverpool, at Anfield, at the weekend, West Ham have 30 points which is just 3 more than Swansea who occupy the last of the three relegation places.

Between us and Swansea are several other clubs, Crystal Palace (27), Southampton (27), Newcastle (29) and Huddersfield (30).

The battle to avoid relegation is a tight one with no side confident they won`t be sucked in and drop through the relegation trap-door.

The next four games are vital for the Hammers, four games which read as thus:

? Swansea (a)
? Burnley (h)
? Southampton (h)
? Chelsea (a)

It is essential that West Ham pick up points against Swansea and Southampton, two clubs that share our fears of dropping out of the top-flight.

They say 40 points is the magical mark, a total big enough to steer clear of relegation, can West Ham reach that mark or after the manner in which we were so easily taken apart by Liverpool should we be worried by the creaking sound the relegation trap-door appears to be beckoning us with?

Your thoughts on the subject matter would be most appreciated in the comments facility beneath this article.
