Ravel Morrison is once again available to be signed, after his contract with Östersunds FK expired.
There were rumours that he had walked out on the club, but the midfielder – who was a West Ham player between 2012 and 2015 – has set the record straight with this tweet:
My contract with @ofk_1996 has finished.
I have not walked out so don’t listen to all the lies that come from these desperate people that will try make a story from anything
I’ve stayed away from all this negative & bad press for years
Leave me alone please

With Mexican side Atlas and then Östersunds in Sweden being his last two clubs, Morrison should have been far enough away to stay out of the public eye, but with his profile, that hasn’t been the case.
Though while he has had a troubled career, he is still loved by many supporters of the clubs he has left behind – most notably Hammers fans, and those of Birmingham City judging by the replies to his tweet.
This has led to both sets of fans bombarding the 26-year-old’s post with tweets tagging their club, hoping they will bring him back.
Morrison will always be fondly remembered by the Hammers faithful, especially for that incredible goal in a 3-0 win at White Hart Lane, where he ran half the pitch with the ball at his feet before coolly dinking it over the goalkeeper.
He started five games during his spell in Sweden, coming off the bench once.
A selection of Twitter reactions to his statement, including posts from hopeful West Ham fans, can be seen below:

Come back to West Ham, son. Pellers is The Man. Tell them you’ll work for free, pay for play, get your head straight and be the player we know you can be.
