With the ink just dry on the contract that saw Joe Cole return to Upton Park, Joe faced the press to give a few thoughts on his Hammers return.

Now thirty-one years of age, Joe enthused about his chance to pull on the famous claret and blue shirt again, remarking,

“I`ve had a great career but by no means and I finished.”

“There will always be the England thing in the back of my mind because I played 56 times for my country. I haven`t played since the World Cup in 2010 so something is missing there.”

“I still want to be part of that but you can`t talk yourself into England squads, you`ve got to perform. I want to win things at West Ham and play for England again.”

Probably a strange clip to extract from a lengthy interview but used because if Joe can get back into England contention again then he`ll, no doubt, have gotten back that magical form we recall him displaying during his first spell with us.
