Clean sheets & mid-table obscurity

Performances have improved in the last fortnight

The last 2 weeks has seen a change in fortunes – on the pitch at least – for the Hammers. A first clean sheet in 94 years came against Pompey, thanks largely to an inspired performance by Green. Panto Villain Jermaine Defoe missed a few good chances to bring some cheer to the home crowd, even if the Irons couldn’t find a much needed win…

…however a week later, and Zola had even greater reason to smile. A win – AN AWAY WIN – 1-0 at Sunderland has lifted spirits at the Boelyn. Berahmi scored the only goal and still found time to hit the bar from 3 yards out.

Meanwhile, the most improved player of the season, Carlton Cole, has signed a new deal closely followed by Freddie Sears.
