Word On The Tweet

Mo Diame hardly endeared himself to the West Ham United faithful.

Back in 2014, he made himself an unpopular figure with the fans in the stands after forcing a move away to Hull City claiming he wanted to play for a club higher up in the Premier League table and stated he should have left the Hammers long before he did (Daily Star).

“I wanted to play for a club that is high in the Premier League table,” he said. “At least with Hull I will be certain of playing in my favoured role. I should have left West Ham a long time ago, as with them I wasn’t permitted to play in central midfield. I wasn’t able to get the biggest clubs interested in me, as when they came to watch me I’d been put in a position that was not mine.”

Having played for Newcastle United for the past three years, he is now without a club after they decided not to extend his contract with them.

West Ham decided to post a tweet on Friday wishing him a happy birthday, however, a number of the fans decided to take it as the perfect opportunity to mock him as he was unable to join a top-six club.

Supporters questioned how his ‘top-six move’ went, whilst some could not handle what the admin of the club’s official Twitter account was doing to them. One commented that the admin was ‘going to hell’, whilst another stated it had been a form of ‘classic trolling’. Here are just some of their reactions…
