With Andy Carroll out injured there`s the feeling around Upton Park that West Ham United could do with an addition to the striking department.

If we were to pick up another injury then we`d be sorely stretched in that part of the field.

To that effect we`re being linked with the acquisition of another striker, a striker who plays for Benfica in the Portuguese League.

At thirty years of age the Paraguayan Oscar Cardozo would bring some experience to the front line.

Unfortunately, if we are to seal a deal for the forward then it looks as if it`ll only be if Sam Allardyce can offload a few players from the current wage-bill, which would intimate to me that we might be active in the transfer market right up until the window slams shut.
